HBO - Game of Thrones World Premiere

"So we can't really tell you what the show is about, and we can't reveal the stars, or the plot, or anything else, but we CAN tell you that there is a gigantic wall of ice, and we were told that you could build one for us.".

Well, sure, but five stories tall in Los Angeles in August?

We worked with our friends at Traction 3D to install a gigantic 5 story poster of the "Ice Wall" which graced the Hollywood and Highland Center during the day. At night, it appeared to be lit by a spotlight - but it was actually a projection map created in partnership with London's The Darkroom and Staging Techniques, which brought the poster to life accompanied by the shattering drama of surround sound.

BBC World News Vending Machine

Engineering, Creative, Technology, Production
In a world so volatile, the intricate interplay each nation has on the other makes international news seem local. BBC World News wanted to illustrate their committment to not only the latest news, but its context within a greater whole.

So in a time before smartphones, on a busy New York street, a BBC World News paper dispenser, with a monitor of the broadcast, was placed beside traditional newspaper dispensers. And individuals picking up their morning news stopped and listened to a report which instantly changed the relevance and immediacy of the paper that they had just purchased.

32 feet First

Campbell's Time Square Debut

Engineering, Creative, Management, Production
Campbell's success with a tv spot celebrating their iconic noodle soup led to their interest in at last exploring an outdoor ad. They wanted it big, and up in time of the (also iconic) Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as their media spot was right on the new route.

The project was concepted in May. November 8th, I got a visit from the account and creative teams revealed that the producers and vendors they had been working with had deemed the project impossible.

A week later, we stood from 10PM to 3AM in the not-darkness of Times Square, watching our 10 day project build: in the morning, New York City was 32 feet (of noodles) taller.

Some Games Can't Be Won.

Autism Speaks Live Installation

Engineering, Design, Programming, Management, Production
To illustrate the heart sinking frustration presented when children with Autism cannot bear to look others in the eye, an idea of a lenticular bus shelter was brought forward.

I suggested making the experience more personal with an ultra high resolution film that interacted with the motions of the observer, creating a 3d parallax illusion - for if the users felt as if they were interacting with a living person, their experience would more closely mirror that of the parents and loved ones daily dealing with this circumstance.

So on a budget meant for a flat outdoor bus shelter campaign, our bi-coastal partnership built this display, used by Autism Speaks to vividly demonstrate how what might be a minor complication feels like on an everyday basis. Often those participating thought it was a game that one could win if they just did the right thing; when the situation was explained to them, they very often broke into tears.

We were proud that this piece seemed to bring about a true and emotional understanding.
